My first week with Blender has been pretty positive. I’m quite satisfied with my progress, which is slow but steady. I’ve reached the sixth video in Blender Guru’s Donut series, and I’m quite happy with the results and how well I’ve remembered what I learned last year. I’m not starting from scratch; I’m familiar enough with the software and the basic commands to be able to focus fully on the tutorial.
In the fourth step, simple textures are applied to the donut and cup to familiarize yourself with shaders. The fifth video suggests using Poliigon textures to make the donut and its icing more realistic. Finally, the sixth video teaches how to properly unfold the cup to add a rustic pottery texture in gold-glazed ceramic.
The goal for next week will be to finish the last two steps of the tutorial and move on to another one to be determined. But I think I’d like a 3D avatar because my vector version is a little cringe.
Otherwise, not too many movies lately, I’m rewatching Stranger Things but here the Motchus of the day.
